Carly Rae Jepsen 'Sworn To Secrecy' On Justin Bieber Duet
'I think we want to release it together at one moment,' Jepsen explains to MTV News about the collaboration for her debut album.

<P><a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/jepsen_carly_rae/artist.jhtml">Carly Rae Jepsen</a> has long been teasing fans about her <a href="/news/articles/1689592/carly-rae-jepsen-collaborations-justin-bieber-redfoo.jhtml">collaboration with Justin Bieber</a>. And, if they thought they'd learn something new about the track as she inches closer to the release of her debut album this September, they'd better think again.</P><P>"The Justin song, I'm kind of sworn to secrecy on because I think we want to release it together at one moment," Jepsen explained to MTV News about the track's rollout. "But the rest of the album, I'm really excited for."</P><P></p><div class="player-placeholder right" title="Carly Rae Jepsen Is 'Excited' About Her LMFAO Collabo 'This Kiss'" id="vid:818177" width="415" height="255"></div><p></P><P>While she didn't want to say much about that duet, Jepsen did have more to say about her work with LMFAO's RedFoo. That song, she shared, might be her favorite on the album.</P><P>"There's one particular song that I can't wait to share called 'This Kiss' that I wrote with Matthew Koma and <a href="/news/articles/1688409/carly-rae-jepsen-lmfao-billboard-magazine.jhtml">Redfoo from LMFAO</a>," she explained. "[The sound is] definitely in my vein, but he's a really brilliant guy, and I think if anything when a collaboration happens, it's a little bit of everybody that makes it what it is. So maybe not just me and not just him, but us together."</P><P>In addition to being a bit secretive about the tracks on the record, Jepsen revealed she is also full of a number of other feelings. Admitting a range of emotions including pressure and anxiety, she said, "The main winning one is excitement. I just feel really lucky to be able to do this. I've been writing since I was 17, and to finally have an audience ready to hear some of that is really, really exciting for me."</P><P>Jepsen said her album will reflect more the woman she is now than the girl she was all those years ago. Robert Plant And Alison Krauss Win Grammy Album Of The Year

<P>"I'm bewildered," <a href="/music/artist/plant_robert/artist.jhtml">Robert Plant</a> said onstage as he accepted the <MTVNLINK type="news" id="1604580">Grammy Album of the Year award</MTVNLINK> with <a href="/music/artist/krauss_alison/artist.jhtml">Alison Krauss</a> on Sunday night. "In the old days we would have called this selling out, but it's a good way to spend a Sunday."</P><P>He was probably one of the few who were surprised, because <i>Raising Sand,</i> which won five trophies at Sunday night's show, is in many ways the perfect <a href="http://www.mtv.com/news/grammys/">Grammy</a> album. It features two respected veterans, a critically lauded producer, some sandpaper-and-velvet vocals and a baker's dozen of time-tested standards.</p><div style="margin: 0px 10px 10px 0px; float: left;"><embed src="http://media.mtvnservices.com/mgid:uma:video:mtv.com:338316" width="256" height="223" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" flashVars="configParams=instance%3Dnews%26vid%3D338316" allowFullScreen="true" allowScriptAccess="always" base="."></embed></div><p></P><P>You're probably familiar with Robert Plant from his <a href="/music/artist/led_zeppelin/artist.jhtml">Led Zeppelin</a> days, and you might be aware of producer T-Bone Burnett's work on the "O Brother, Where Art Thou?" soundtrack (it won the Grammy for Album of the Year in 2002). And if you don't know who Alison Krauss is, she possesses a haunting set of pipes and is one of the meanest fiddle players in the world. Oh, and she's won 21 Grammys, more than any other female artist and the seventh-most in history.</P><P>Really, she's the key to <i>Sand</i>'s success, and not just because of her voice (or her fiddle playing). She and Plant first met in 2004, at a Rock and Roll Hall of Fame tribute to legendary bluesman Leadbelly, and the former Zeppelin man was amazed by her knowledge of American Roots music — so much so that they began kicking around the idea of recording an album together. Three years later, <i>Sand</i> was released.</P><P>And while Plant possesses the more famous voice, the album's finest moments radiate from Krauss. Whether she's getting bluesy on Little Milton's "Let Your Loss Be Your Lesson" or entwining with Plant's husky voice on songs like "Please Read the Letter" and Roly Salley's winsome "Killing the Blues," she more than carries her end of the bargain.</P><P>And perhaps that's also due to producer Burnett, who handpicked the 13 songs the duo cover on <i>Sand.</i> His arrangements are sparse — giving the two voices ample room to breathe — yet dense, warm and crackling at the same time. It's a testament to his work that he's often given just as much billing as Plant and Krauss on the project ... and it's certainly justified.</P><P>To date, <i>Sand</i> has sold more than 1 million copies, heaped tons of acclaim and actually earned a Grammy last year — "Gone Gone Gone (Done Moved On)" took home the award for Best Pop Collaboration With Vocals.</P><P>One expert was surprised not by the album's success, but by the fact that it's actually quite a good album.</P><P>"At first, the album seemed like a vanity project. ... Two names, clearly a one-off record, didn't have to be any good, you know?" <i>New York Times</i> music critic Jon Caramanica said. "Led Zeppelin fans would buy it because of Robert Plant, Alison Krauss would get a check. But it actually turned out to be a really thoughtful, really <i>good</i> record. So when you combine all that with the fact that the Grammys love to lionize one of their own, I could really see it taking home some awards." </p>

"No harm from the concussion but it appears my brain is just water and a large floating jellyfish." She then shared just <i>who</i> she got the check-up for, adding a little note to her dad. "@germanottajoe i had them check my noodle," she wrote. "that was your father's day present Il mio babbo!! I thought they were taking me to the zoo. "I did hit my head and I think I may have a concussion. But don't you worry, I will finish this show."</P><P>Gaga will play several shows in Sydney, including a gig on Wednesday night. She'll play Australia through the remainder of this month before hitting up Europe in July. She has dates slated right through December abroad. An Olympic insider also dished about the exciting news telling a British tabloid, "David will have a starring role in the games and he is excited at the prospect. Meetings will be held this week. It's going to be a big, big surprise."
Negotiations are still taking place, but David is expected to return to London to begin rehearsals soon.

Kristen Stewart Shows Some Leg on the Links
Kristen Stewart joined a group of friends in Malibu yesterday for a round of golf. She did her best to keep cool in a pair of short khaki shorts and opted for toed footwear instead of golf cleats. <P>Simon Cowell is clearly feeling better — after missing <a href="/news/articles/1687133/x-factor-judges-performances-fighting.jhtml">"The X Factor" auditions in Kansas City, Missouri,</a> due to a bout of bronchitis — and he's talking <a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/spears_britney/artist.jhtml">Britney Spears</a>.</P><P>Cameramen from <a href="http://www.x17online.com/celebrities/simon_cowell/simon_cowell_says_britney_spears_not_unstable_claims_he_is_video_061412.php" target="_blank">X17</a> caught up with Cowell while he was riding in his town car in Beverly Hills, and they found the oft-testy reality-show judge and music executive to be in a particularly good mood. Cowell addressed a variety of tabloid rumors regarding Spears — namely that she's had some issues on set and that she's shaping up to be one of the tougher judges.</P><P></p><div class="player-placeholder right" title="Britney Spears Explains Why She Wanted To Be A Part Of 'X Factor'" id="vid:769620" width="415" height="255"></div><p></P><P>When a cameraman asked whether "Britney's too unstable" to judge "X Factor," Cowell responded, "No, she's not unstable. I'm the one who's unstable! She's working out great. All these reports that we've fallen out are nonsense. She's doing a great job."</P><P>Cowell's car then pulls away, but again comes to a stop in traffic, allowing the paparazzi to continue his questioning. Asked whether Spears was his favorite judge, Cowell said, "There's only two girls," referring to Demi Lovato, and went on to jokingly admit that he is his own favorite of all time. I went to the premiere on Tuesday and it was the coolest thing ever. First, the movie is AMAZING and Chris Evans is a superstar. Second, there were so many damn people there it was insane. I have been to movie premieres in New York before and they were nothing like this. I mean, they closed down Hollywood Boulevard. I would've taken photos to show you, but the invite said to leave phones in the car. But here's a photo of me in my cool Captain America 3D glasses:

"Green Mile" actor Michael Clarke Duncan hospitalized
LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - "The Green Mile" actor Michael Clarke Duncan has been hospitalized in Los Angeles, a spokeswoman for his reality TV star girlfriend said on Friday. Priscilla Clarke, a representative for "The Apprentice" star Omarosa Stallworth, did not provide any further details on why Duncan was taken to the hospital. Celebrity website TMZ reported that Stallworth discovered early Friday that Duncan had suffered a heart attack and was in cardiac arrest. She revived him with cardiopulmonary resuscitation before he was rushed to a Los Angeles hospital, TMZ reported. ...

I did hit my head and I think I may have a concussion. But don't you worry, I will finish this show." <P>Late last month, <a href=http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/lady_gaga/artist.jhtml>Lady Gaga</a> was forced to cancel her <a href="/news/articles/1685874/lady-gaga-indonesian-concert.jhtml">June 3 concert in Jakarta, Indonesia</a>, after protests from Islamic groups led to national police denying her a permit for the show. But now, a different group of Indonesians has taken to the street, this time to show their support for the Mother Monster. And it's left Gaga in tears.</P><P>In a show of solidarity and support, 91 of Gaga's biggest, bravest fans — dubbed the Indonesian Little Monsters — gathered at Jakarta's Ex Plaza Indonesia shopping center for a flash-mob tribute to the singer. They were dressed to the nines in their Gaga finest, breaking into a choreographed dance number while surprised shoppers looked on — and filmed the entire routine on their camera phones.</P><P>In the <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AWqe6EozGro" target="_blank">10-minute video</a>, uploaded on Saturday, the group grooves to Gaga hits like "Telephone," "Bad Romance" and "Judas" before triumphantly embracing at the performance's end. And as if their routine didn't serve as a loud enough rebuke against the nation's conservative Islamic groups, the Indonesian Monsters end the clip with a message to both those groups and to Gaga herself, writing:</P><P>"Tons of rejection and hatred are everywhere. But still, we will always [get] your back. We respect your decision [to cancel] BTW Ball, and it doesn't change how much we love you. We love you, Mother Monster, 'til the end."</P><P>Understandably, Gaga was moved by the outpouring of support, posting the video on her Twitter account, along with a <a href="https://twitter.com/ladygaga/status/209557682728878080" target="_blank">response</a> to her Indonesian Monsters.</P><P>"This made me cry so hard," Gaga wrote. "I love you so much. You are the best fans in the world."</p>

In addition to the sumptuous soul one expects from Mr. Raymond, perfectly exhibited on songs like "Lessons for the Lover" and "Dive," it's evident that Ursh has a serious love of dance music. Alesso appears in the production credits with <a href="/news/articles/1660513/swedish-house-mafia-masquerade-hotel.jhtml">Axwell</a>, <a href="/news/articles/1681804/miami-music-week-size-records-steve-angello.jhtml">Steve Angello</a> and <a href="/news/articles/1678633/swedish-house-mafia-sebastian-ingrosso-alesso.jhtml">Sebastian Ingrosso</a> on "Numb," which has a lighter, simpler beat than one typically expects from the Swedes. This is certainly in contrast to the whopping banger "Euphoria," which won't need too much retooling before being added to a SHM set.</P><P>MTV News caught up with Angello this weekend at Las Vegas dance-music mecca XS Nightclub, where he revealed just how these two gems came to be.</P><P>"We did the [2010 American Music Awards performance] with Usher," Angello said. "And then he came to hang out with us in Ibiza. [After that] we were in Atlanta and we were all working together for five days. And then we brainstormed and wrote the records from start to finish."</P><P>As Swedish House Mafia fans are well aware, the holy trinity of house are extremely selective about whom they work with. But the chance to work with a time-tested R&B legend they respect was an opportunity they relished.</P><P>"He's always been a great artist," Angello continued. "He always knows what he wants. Good collaboration, all in all. For us, we'd rather work with someone that we respect than to just work with a big name. It was the same with Pharrell [Williams, on <a href="/news/articles/1643772/pharrell-williams-calls-swedish-house-mafia-necessary-rock-stars.jhtml">SHM's "One (Your Name)"</a>] and Tinie Tempah [on <a href="/news/articles/1647200/axwell-hes-hyped-play-new-yorks-electric-zoo-fest.jhtml">"Miami 2 Ibiza"</a>]."</P><P>While Angello reminded us that "Numb" and "Euphoria" are Usher records, not Swedish House Mafia joints, they ought to hold you SHM fans over until Ax, Seb and Steve deliver their upcoming Australia-inspired <a href="/news/articles/1682265/swedish-house-mafia-single-australia.jhtml">"Emotional" single</a>, which is almost complete.</p>
