After a week of workplace drama on the set of "American Idol," Mariah Carey sought to unwind with a day of fun at the Santa Monica pier in Los Angeles.
The Family Day event, hosted by husband Nick Cannon, meant throngs of fans seeking attention from the famous couple. The "American Idol" judge wore a short red dress and wedge heels as she stood out among the crowds of non-celebs.
Her hubby, however, opted for a more appropriate outfit for the day, sporting a white t-shirt, blue cargo shorts, and tennis shoes. Also enjoying the day were the happy pair's 18-month-old twins, Moroccan and Monroe.
Despite the security team and huge crowds, Mariah and Nick took time to hop on a rollercoaster, pick up some cotton candy, and watch their kids marvel at balloons.
The trip was likely a welcome stress-reliever for the 42-year-old diva. As previously reported by GossipCenter, she and co-judge Nicki Minaj were caught on tape mid-argument and Ms. Carey claims that the "Starships" rapper even threatened to shoot her.
